BBC SPORT | Rugby Union | Scottish | Scottish Rugby axes Borders team

Oh dear, this is a sad reflection on the state of Rugby Union in Scotland:

BBC SPORT | Rugby Union | Scottish | Scottish Rugby axes Borders team: "The SRU board has decided it was unrealistic to continue running three professional teams."

Yes, it is a sad day for Scottish Rugby. Not only did we get the wooden spoon in the Six Nations, but we can no longer even support 3 professional teams. What chance do we have against the likes of the mightly All Blacks, or even the Springboks (I won't mention the English!), with all their professional sides? I guess in SA you have professional clubs, provincial (Currie Cup) & Regional (Super 14) sides? Jesus! Just think of the size of the pool...compared to our puddle!! Condolences mate - we'll share a jug in comiseration!
