21/06/2008 Shopping Trolleys blocking Accessible Bay at Paarl Mall

This REALLY annoys me. 3 people at Paarl Mall were just too bloody lazy, and decided to leave their trolleys blocking one of the accessible bays. Amazing the lack of thought that some humans display!!!

I'm from the east coast of the USA, and I was particularly amazed that only three carts blocked the spot. I have a ramp van, and where I grocery shop there are NO van accessible spots. The three post offices closest to me have the curb cuts in the parking space. Even if I don't park there, someone else can and block me from returning to my van. I go out every day and am blocked 2 or 3 times a week. Joan

Joan, I am aware tat we are not the only ones with this sort of problem. But I became so frustrated that I decided to "name & shame" where I can...
Here, in Cape Town, we recently had a local politician, Tony Yengeni, (who is out on Parole for fraud) parking his big BMW M5 in an accessible bay, & refusing to move when this was pointed out to him...

This annoys me so much, but what annoys me even more is when stores decide to use the disabled parking spaces to keep their shopping carts/trolleys. Here in the UK one of the grocery stores we go to recently had their parking lot re-done. They moved a lot fo the disabled parking spots, but also decided to build two of the trolley parking spaces OVER two of the disabled parking spots. If you go on Flickr and search for disabled parking you will see so many examples of this exact thing.
