BBC NEWS | Technology | IPTV for deaf people takes off: "A new web-based television service, or IPTV, for British Sign Language (BSL) users has recently launched in the UK.
VeeSee TV airs news and other programmes in BSL and is available 24 hours a day.
The channel can be viewed on a computer or via a set-top box and is the brainchild of BSL interpreter Susie Grant."

This is really patronising. Done by a hearie, and centralised content. Making money out of Deaf people?
Most of what is on there is essentially vlogs. Deaf people should be encouraged to set up their own vlogs, and own their own content. A reinvention of paternalism?
Hmm. I had previously commented, but I decided to do some more digging, and I see what you mean. I had picked upon it on the BBC News website, but had not had chance lo investigate further. Alison; I do tend to agree with your comments; and I will put up a counter post shortly. I guess my lesson learned is to investigate before posting and not the other way around.
