Inaccessible pavement in Cape Town

Kloof Street Cape Town. The Electrical box made passing bad enough in a wheelchair, but now they have ripped up the pavement, one has to take on the traffic on Kloof street...which is a scary activity...

This is really special, they should just start completely over and do the right thing, make the necessary changes of removing the electrical box, move it up and replace the sidewalk and the curbing, because I am sure that there are limited curb cuts. Other than that, every one will have to have an iBot.

tmac, Oh please!! Can the City of Cape Town provide us all with iBots (I tried one out 2 years ago at the motability roadshow in the UK, and did not want to get off!!). But, yes the 'sensible' thing to do would be to move the electrical box now. But there is a little something in me, which makes me think it will stay like this for a long time...before being (badly) patched, and the obstruction will remain...
